A pullover hoodie in brushed-back cotton fleece with a lined hood, a front pouch and ribbed hem and cuffs.
A hooded sweatshirt gets worn more days than anything else in the drawer, which is exactly why the cheap ones are obvious by February: the cuffs go first, then the hem, then the shape.
Why this hoodie?
- Brushed-back fleece: the inside face is raised and the outside left flat, so the warmth sits against the skin and the surface stays smooth.
- Lined hood: the hood is built from two layers, which keeps it standing up instead of lying flat across the shoulders.
- Ribbed hem and cuffs: the rib is knitted with a proportion of elastane so it pulls back into shape rather than stretching out at the wrist.
- Front pouch: one continuous pocket across the front, deep enough that the opening does not gape when it is empty.
- Set-in sleeves: the shoulder seam sits where the shoulder ends, which keeps the fit closer than a raglan cut.
Ideal for:
Men who put the same thing on over whatever they are already wearing, most days, from October onwards. It works indoors over a T-shirt and outdoors under a jacket without adding bulk at the shoulder.

Is the drawcord flat or round?
Flat, with metal-free tipped ends, running through a two-eyelet channel at the front of the hood.
Does the fleece pill?
The yarn is ring-spun, which lays the fibres down and reduces pilling compared with an open-end yarn of the same weight.
